Hide user from Global address book  will email bounce
It has been a while. I have an Exchange 2003 Server and Server 2003/Ad in Interm mode. If I hide a user from the global address book, will that cause the messages to bounce? Or is it only when the users is disabled in AD. I believe that messages will be ok if hidden in the Global address book but wanted to confirm. Thanks

No hiding it will still allow email to flow. Only when you disable the account will email bounce. What we usually do is change the password and hide the mailbox Later if we want someone to handle email for that ex-employee we just add the users email address as an alias to the account/user that will be handling it and then we can disable the account or delete it if desired. You are correct. Hiding them from the GAL will not cause their email to bounce.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "
